Part one of a loose-leaf collection on "grounds".In this collection, the author has reworked grounds from old lace which she discovered either in private collections or in museums. The subject of this first part is "grounds with gimps" and the ones included are mainly from Mechlin lace. Pricking, illustration, working diagram, and a grid with the pattern of pin holes are included. The pages are punched to fit Central European and American binders. All the applications are in the form of thread drawings and text.
